These are such lovely images! I am especially fond of the kitchen with the drop-leaf table. I had several of those in the past few years. Thought I didn't have room for them anymore, and took them to the consignment shop. Kicking myself now! I'll be back to visit. Just found you. Brenda
Hi Brenda. I know how you feel, about the dropleaf tables. I too had several. Now I have not a one! Maybe we'll both find one that suits our needs. :-)
Hi Marcia, I love the photos you posted. In fact I visit your blog for inspiration. I'm in the process of revamping my family room to brighten it up for summer and the pictures you posted were very helpful. Thanks! I agree with you about the cottage style. It's comfortable, welcoming, not faddish, and oh so pretty! ttyl!
I think sometimes things are just meant to be. I started reading your blog - I was just kind of wandering through blogland and somehow hit upon yours . . and just felt a contentment as I looked at your photos. I love cottage style, even though my house is no where close to being that style. (I can always dream). Then read your profile to find out - we're neighbors!!! I'm in LaVerne! Now how funny is that? You could've been at the north pole for all I knew . . . and here you are. Love your blog and will be following along from now on. YAY! Have a great day! Karen
I am so happy to have found your blog!! Where in CA are you living? My husband and I lived in the Bay Area... fresno and San Jose. Then we moved to Manteca, which is located in the central valley between Modesto and Stockton. When we had our first child, we started talking about moving out of CA. When I got pregnant with my second child, we moved to Alabama. We now live in Decatur, not far from florence. In fact, my folks live in Russellville. I remember the San Diego area. Wonderful weather and beautiful beaches!! I hope you are enjoying yourself there and I will make sure I remember to check out how you are doing. You have such a lovely style!! :)
Hi Karen, and thank you for yor comment. Yes, we are neighbors aren't we? Actually, I spend quite a lot of time in La Verne being that I work at the university there, so we truly are neighbors! My move to AL, then back home again to CA has left me with much to do in the cottage decorating area of my life. I, too, can only dream that my home would look anything like the photos I post. They inspire me to keep on working at it. So glad you found my page and that you enjoy visiting. Talk to you later, neighbor! :-)
Hi Kelly! Wow, we were neighbors at one time too, weren't we? My hubby is from Florence, which is why I moved their the Fall of 05. I worked for UNA in Florence nearly 3 years before we moved to CA end of year 08. I'm from Los Angeles but we're now living in Upland. My parents are in the San Diego area so I took my hubby to the pier there and at Imperial beach. I never made it to Russellville; drove through Decatur once or twice. I loved NW Albama...just beautiful! The weather was always exciting. Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog. It truly is a small world! :-)
What a great table! I just have to tell you I am a tea cup nut. Yours are beautiful. I know I have told you that before, but every time I visit your blog. My eyes go strait to the cups. A woman after my own heart! Martha
I'm not sure where I was, but I just recently discovered "Country French" magazine with the spring/summer 09 issue. I just love it! Of course, I love BH&G Creative Collections Publication "100 Ideas Flea Market Style." If you haven't already, DO check them out!
I have loved the cottage style from the time I was a child. Back then, it was the fairy tale cottages that I'd find in my picture books. How I loved paging through and wishing that I could somehow magically transform myself into the picture. I would fantasize that I lived in that perfect little fairy tale cottage. I still fantasize about living in that perfect little cottage in the woods, or by the sea. I envision a beautiful, peaceful life that's influenced by love and giving. I want my home to welcome others and make them feel at home. I work full-time as an administrative secretary for a university, so I don't have a lot of time to spend on cottage decorating. Mostly, my life involves my wonderful husband and 3 children, my church and friends, and just trying to be the person that I know I should be. God is watching!
